The following 34 Pilates exercises are taken from the original ‘contrology’ programme and delivered theoretically and practically as part of all credibly Pilates courses and qualifications. While each exercise is accompanied with its own aim, breathing technique and coaching points, only a select few have been provided on this page for the purpose of illustration. In the words of Joseph Pilates himself:
“The only unchanging rules that you must conscientiously obey are that you must always faithfully and without deviation follow the instructions accompanying the exercises and always keep your mind wholly concentrated on the purpose of the exercises as you perform them.”
